Education and the family are complex sets of topics that loom large in
current policy discussion. Changing family structures are turning the spotlight
on family policy as the quintessential theme of our times, and these
developments in society are also having substantial effects on the development
of educational processes. Interface
contributes perspectives based on educational and political science as well as
sociology to the analysis of existing policy.
In the area of Education, we deal with the conception,
implementation and effects of reforms at all levels of education (primary
school, secondary school and vocational training, tertiary education) in Switzerland and Germany. We offer advice and
follow-through to individual schools as they launch innovative school
development projects, and with the introduction of in-school quality
management.
In the Family area, we
are concerned with the conception and implementation of projects to promote a
family-friendly attitude in municipalities and communes. The key points here
are clarifying requirements for care institutions and day schools to supplement
care received in the family, and the assessment of their educational quality.
Finally, Interface plays a part in the analysis of the family situation
in Switzerland
by collaborating on national family reports.
